Now, what are some current industry trends in this field that prospective students should know about? GUEST: There's growing interest in integrating remote sensing technologies, artificial intelligence, and machine learning for real-time volcanic monitoring and prediction. Also, interdisciplinary collaboration is essential, as we work closely with data scientists, engineers, and government agencies. HOST: That sounds challenging yet rewarding. Speaking of challenges, what are some obstacles you've faced or observed in teaching this subject? GUEST: Accessibility to real-world data and resources can be a challenge.
