About this Podcast

HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today I'm thrilled to be talking with an expert in the field of biophilic design. Can you tell us a bit about your experience and what drew you to this area? GUEST: Absolutely, I've spent over 15 years working as an interior designer, and I became fascinated by how nature can influence our well-being in interior spaces. This led me to specialize in biophilic design. HOST: It's fascinating how nature can impact our productivity and creativity at work. Can you share any current trends in biophilic office spaces that our listeners should know about? GUEST: Certainly! One trend is the increased use of living walls or green facades, which not only improve air quality but also create a calming environment. We're also seeing more natural light integration and the use of organic shapes and materials. HOST: Those are great trends! Now, as with any new concept, there must be challenges in implementing biophilic design within office spaces. What have you found to be the most common obstacles? GUEST: Budget constraints and lack of understanding about the benefits of biophilic design are two major challenges. Convincing stakeholders to invest in what may seem like aesthetics, without fully grasping the long-term benefits, can be difficult. HOST: That's true, but the long-term benefits do seem to outweigh the initial investment. Now, looking towards the future, where do you see biophilic office spaces heading? GUEST: I believe biophilic design will become an essential aspect of sustainable and human-centric office spaces. As we become more aware of the importance of mental and physical health in the workplace, biophilic design will play a crucial role in enhancing overall well-being. HOST: It's clear that the Graduate Certificate in Biophilic Office Spaces can empower professionals to create healthier work environments. Thank you for joining us today and sharing your insights on this important topic! GUEST: My pleasure, thank you for having me!
