About this Podcast
HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today I'm excited to be talking with Dr. Samantha Robotics, an expert in the field of robotic engineering and healthcare. We're discussing her course, "Postgraduate Certificate in Socially Interactive Stroke Robots." Dr. Robotics, welcome and thank you for joining us. GUEST: Thanks for having me, it's a pleasure to be here. HOST: Dr. Robotics, can you tell us about your personal experiences and insights that led you to create this course? GUEST: Absolutely, I've worked with stroke patients and robotic engineers for years, and I saw a need for a program that bridges the gap between the two fields. HOST: That's fascinating. And what current industry trends do you see as most relevant to this course? GUEST: Well, socially interactive robots and AI in healthcare are rapidly growing trends. We're increasingly recognizing the potential of these technologies in patient care and rehabilitation. HOST: I can imagine that presents many opportunities but also some challenges. What do you think are the main challenges in integrating robotic technology in stroke rehabilitation? GUEST: The key challenges include ensuring the robots are user-friendly, safe, and respectful of patient privacy. Training healthcare professionals to program and manage these robots is another hurdle. HOST: That's so true. Looking ahead, how do you see the future of this area or industry? GUEST: I believe that socially interactive stroke robots will become standard tools in stroke rehabilitation, improving patient engagement, and recovery outcomes, and transforming the way we deliver care. HOST: Dr. Robotics, thank you for sharing your expertise and insights with us today. GUEST: My pleasure, thanks for having me. [2 minutes 30 seconds read aloud]
