About this Podcast

HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today I'm thrilled to be joined by Dr. Sarah Peterson, an expert in AI ethics and the lead instructor for the Certificate Programme in AI and Ethical Social Responsibility. Sarah, thank you for joining us. GUEST: Thanks for having me, I'm excited to be here! HOST: Could you share with us what initially drew you to this field, where AI meets ethical social responsibility? GUEST: Absolutely! I've always been fascinated by the potential of AI, but also concerned about its ethical implications. I wanted to help shape a future where AI can be used responsibly and for the greater good. HOST: Interesting! And what do you think are some of the current industry trends in AI ethics that our listeners should be aware of? GUEST: Well, there's growing awareness of the need for ethical AI, with many companies now appointing AI ethics officers. Also, there's a push for more transparency in AI systems and a move towards explainable AI. HOST: That sounds promising. But surely there must be challenges in this field. Could you share some of them with us? GUEST: Sure. One major challenge is the lack of clear regulations and guidelines around AI ethics. Also, there's a need for more diversity in AI teams to ensure a wider range of perspectives. HOST: Those are important points. Now, looking to the future, how do you see the field of AI ethics evolving? GUEST: I believe AI ethics will become an integral part of AI development and implementation. We'll see more focus on ethical AI education and training, and hopefully, more robust regulations. HOST: Dr. Peterson, thank you for sharing your insights with us today. It's been a pleasure talking to you about the Certificate Programme in AI and Ethical Social Responsibility. GUEST: Thank you for having me! It's been a great conversation.
