About this Podcast

HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today I'm excited to have Dr. Sarah Peterson with us. She's an expert in global health and leadership, and will share her insights about the Certificate Programme in Global Health Management and Leadership. Welcome, Sarah! GUEST: Thanks for having me, I'm looking forward to our conversation! HOST: Great! To start, could you tell us a bit about your personal experiences that led you to teach this course? GUEST: Absolutely! I've worked in various healthcare settings around the world, and I've seen firsthand how essential strategic leadership and management skills are in addressing complex global health challenges. HOST: That's fascinating. Now, let's talk about current industry trends. What do you think are the most relevant ones for this course? GUEST: There are two key trends: the increasing need for telemedicine due to the pandemic, and the growing emphasis on health equity and social determinants of health. HOST: Indeed, those are important issues. Now, what kind of challenges have you faced or observed when it comes to teaching or learning this subject matter? GUEST: One challenge is the interdisciplinary nature of global health – bringing together professionals from different backgrounds can be both enriching and challenging. HOST: I can imagine! Finally, where do you see the future of global health management and leadership heading? GUEST: I believe we'll see more collaboration between countries, organizations, and sectors to tackle global health issues. This course aims to prepare students for that future. HOST: Well said, Sarah. Thank you so much for joining us today and sharing your insights on the Certificate Programme in Global Health Management and Leadership. GUEST: My pleasure, thanks for having me! (Note: This conversation is approximately 2 minutes when read aloud.)
