GUEST: Of course, we're seeing a lot of advancements in areas like recirculating aquaculture systems, which reduce water usage and environmental impact. Also, the use of IoT devices for real-time monitoring and control of farming conditions is becoming more prevalent. HOST: Interesting. What challenges do you face when teaching this course or when professionals apply these new techniques in their work? GUEST: One major challenge is the need for a mindset shift towards more sustainable practices, which can be challenging due to entrenched traditional methods. Additionally, access to funding for investing in new technology can be a barrier for many small-scale farmers. HOST: Those are important points to consider. Looking forward, where do you see the future of aquaculture heading? GUEST: I believe we'll continue to see a shift towards more sustainable practices, driven by consumer demand and regulatory pressures.
