About this Podcast
HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today we're talking with an expert about the Certified Specialist Programme in Youth Homelessness. Can you tell us a bit about your experiences that led you to this field? GUEST: Absolutely, I've been working with at-risk youth for over a decade now. It's heartbreaking to see so many young people without a place to call home. This course has been instrumental in equipping me with the right tools and knowledge. HOST: That's powerful. Now, what are some current trends you're seeing in youth homelessness? GUEST: There's a growing recognition of the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ youth and those from indigenous communities. We need more targeted approaches to address these disparities. HOST: That's insightful. What would you say are the biggest challenges in dealing with youth homelessness? GUEST: A lack of affordable housing and insufficient mental health services pose significant hurdles. Also, many youths don't trust authority figures, making engagement difficult. HOST: Those are important issues. Looking forward, how do you envision the future of this area? GUEST: I hope to see increased collaboration between government agencies, nonprofits, and businesses. With comprehensive support systems in place, we can end youth homelessness. HOST: Here's to making a difference! Thank you for joining us today and sharing your insights on the Certified Specialist Programme in Youth Homelessness. GUEST: My pleasure, thanks for having me.
