About this Podcast
HOST: Welcome to our podcast, today we have Dr. Jane Smith, an expert in youth advocacy and policy. She's here to talk about the new course she's involved in, "Certified Professional in Youth Advocacy and Policy". Welcome, Jane! GUEST: Thanks for having me! I'm excited to be here. HOST: Could you share a bit about your personal experiences that led you to this field? GUEST: Absolutely! I started out as a teacher, but soon realized that many of my students faced significant challenges outside the classroom. This inspired me to pursue a career in youth advocacy. HOST: Fascinating! Now, what are some current trends in youth advocacy and policy that you'd like to highlight? GUEST: There's growing recognition of the importance of youth voice in decision-making processes. Also, there's a shift towards holistic, community-based approaches to support young people. HOST: That sounds promising. But there must be challenges in this line of work. Could you share some of them? GUEST: Sure. Navigating complex systems and bureaucracies can be challenging. Additionally, ensuring that all voices are heard, especially those from marginalized communities, requires constant effort. HOST: Indeed, it's not an easy task. Now, looking ahead, what do you think the future holds for youth advocacy and policy? GUEST: I believe we'll see more emphasis on prevention rather than reaction. Also, technology will play a bigger role in engaging young people and amplifying their voices. HOST: That's an optimistic outlook. Thank you, Dr. Smith, for sharing your insights with us today! GUEST: My pleasure! Thanks for having me.
